May Day 2010 Detroit was successful in many regards. First, the DSP joined other protesters for the 5th Annual Immigrant Rights March for a 3 mile march through Southwest Detroit’s largely Latino community. It was estimated that 250-300 people marched, which although lower than previous years still made its presence known and was emblematic of the unity that can occur between different groups within the community. It culminated with a rally and later a musical fundraiser for the DSP. The fundraiser, held in a Hamtramck bar, raised substantial funds with more than 50 persons donating at the entrance.
The DSP would like to thank all of those that made both event possible.
